Don’t call me a Consultant, cos I ain’t!

I’m not a big fan of the term ‘consultant’ and, in fact, if someone refers to me as one, I get quite cross.  I have been heard to respond, ‘Lets get this clear. Here at the Smart Working Revolution, we’re practitioners – not consultants!’  Why does it annoy me so?  Well, here is my take on the difference:

We’re simply not Consultants

Consultants, often dubbed as “external experts,” are known for swooping in with grandiose promises of transformation. They come in all shapes and sizes from the ‘Big 4’ consulting houses to one man bands armed with fancy presentations, hefty fees and a one-size-fits-all approach that may or may not align with your organisation’s unique needs.

While they preach about best practices and industry standards, their recommendations often fall short when it comes to real-world application. After all, it’s easy to offer advice from the sidelines, but implementing those ideas in the trenches is a whole different ball game. Consultants we are not!

We really are Practitioners

Practitioners, on the other hand, are the real deal. They’re the ones who roll up their sleeves, dive into the nitty-gritty and get their hands dirty alongside your team. With years of hands-on experience under their belts, they bring a wealth of practical knowledge and battle-tested strategies to the table.

Practitioners understand that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. They tailor their approach to fit your organisation’s unique challenges and culture, delivering results that speak for themselves.  And, when it comes to Workforce Transformation, it’s the practitioners who lead the charge, driving meaningful change from within.  That’s what we do.

We only employ those with hands on experience

At the Smart Working Revolution, we don’t recruit consultants.  We only employ practitioners.  And yes, we take the theory, the science and the groundbreaking ideas but we mix this with our real life experience with clients over the past 20 years – and then we help you to put new ways of working, leading or operating into action.

Oh, and we make real, tangible changes in how your people work and collaborate.  That’s why our track record has seen our clients improving productivity by a whopping 13% and reducing attrition by up to 50%.

Now, surely, you want to know how we do that in practice? Contact the Smart Working Revolution
