We’re Hiring – Finance Director for our People Hub Programmes

We’re searching for a Finance Director with a difference.  You will be working with the Smart Working Revolution Team, part time, 2 days per week with flexibility to do a little more from time to time. But the difference is, you will be able to help and guide us on our grant funded programme!

Location

Cornwall with Smart Working, of course.  We get together once a week in beautiful St Agnes at our Revolution HQ.

Job Description

Are you a seasoned finance professional with a proven track record in all aspects of financial management? Are you passionate about driving growth and managing our government grant funding? An you fun to work with and happy to bring your authentic self to work?  If so, we want you to join our team as a Finance Director at Smart Working Revolution!

Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee budgeting processes and prepare accurate financial forecasts to support decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce timely and comprehensive financial reports for management and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow effectively to support business operations and growth initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive analysis and strategic planning.
  • Government Grant Funding: Manage government grant funding opportunities to support business development projects.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Team Work: Lead and mentor the wider team on all aspects of finance, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. You will be able to show us that numbers are fun!

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified ACA, ICAS, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management roles, with a focus on small business finance.
  • Strong understanding of government grant funding processes and regulations
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and adapt to changing business environments.
  • You will also be happy to tootle about Cornwall from time to time.
